What kind of engineering is the best in the renewable energy industry?
I am currently in college and decided I wanted to go to the renewables, mainly wind power. My college only offers renewable energy as a child, so I have to choose a major. I've looked Environmental and Civil Engineering, but I'm not sure it would be better for the wind energy field, or even if there is a different type of engineering that I going to work better with renewable energy. Any suggestions?
In many institutions, Environmental Engineering is a subset of civil engineering. Thus, while Civil includes wide range of subjects, the environment is more focused and relate directly to issues such as renewable energy and chemical treatment. I would like to research on both and see which sounds more appealing to you. In any case, see if you can sit on a few classes and see if you're intrigued. Chemical Engineering might be of interest to you. Chemical Engineers focus on the chemical processes for large-scale manufacturing. I know there are several environmental projects associated with this type of engineering, such as renewable resources.
