Save Money / Green vs geothermal?

New Jersey is hiking our electricity costs about 35% for the summer due to our level consumption (6000 kWh AC). All electricity will 2500kwh over .09/kwh rate levied. I have a variety of alternatives to get my bill down light: replacing my 10 years of age, quite ineffeicient central air conditioning units (we have 2) with a high SEER unit in the range of 13 to 17. Possibly have solar panels for electricity installed in the ceiling. Get a geothermal unit drilled vertically into our yard for heating and air conditioning. can only afford to make one. What is likely to return the most "bang for the buck faster? Our house is about 10 years and is quite energy efficient. We have new garage doors, isolated and have replaced most CFC lights whenever possible (we have a good number of units Halogen integrated into the roofs that have no viable or Alternative CFC LED)

Investigation, "Energy", mitigation penetration of air, check your current level of insulation and look that up meat, new windows in older homes can save more too … simply leave and buy the best and will not be your best solution in search of some of these other things are so basic that many people in Wikipedia them! Now that you have done everything it can to save energy, analysis of alternatives for generating electricity and / or geothermal energy for heating and cooling. These are 2 different issues … Does that make sense? You do not have to go out and buy a new house, fix your stuff!
